This service records DNA profiles for your foundation and breeding stock, supports parentage verification of new litters, and provides key markers related to herd health, meat quality, and growth rate, on all tested stock, as well as providing insight into which of those superior qualities they can pass on to their piglets .

What you get

• Parentage Verificatio n: By comparing offspring profiles to the dam and potential sires, we can qualify or exclude parents with confidence. Once parents are verified, we have them on file to qualify or exclude parentage on future litters.
• Relatedness insights : Useful for understanding kinship and planning matings.
• Selected trait markers : Results include information relevant to herd health, meat quality, and growth rate, giving you insight that would otherwise take generations and years to observe.

How it works

1. Order your preferred collection supplies and number of tests.
2. Collect samples following the included instructions.
3. Return samples as directed; we submit to the lab.
4. Receive results and keep profiles on file to streamline future verifications

Pricing:

• Lab test (Neogen GGP 50K): $45.00+ your collection method

Choose your collection method:
- Blood card: $1.50 each. Apply a clean blood spot about the size of a quarter. Keep the card uncontaminated until fully dry, then cover.
- Hair card: $2.00 each + $5.00 lab hair processing fee per sample. Pluck (don’t cut) 25-30 hairs to capture the root/follicle and place on the card before covering.
- Tissue Sampling Unit (TSU): $2.95 each. Quick, clean sampling similar to ear tagging. Requires a TSU Tag Applicator. RWPP provides an applicator on deposit — $85 refundable upon return with your TSU tubes within two weeks.
